Claudia Damian has lived in Michigan most of her life, She has been employed with various private, public and non-profit agencies through out the State. Her job responsibilities have included investigations, agency liaison, interpreting for the Deaf, case management, and advocacy for people who are Deaf, hard of hearing and disabled.

Claudia has three Bachelor Degrees: sociology/psychology and minority/urban studies (B.S. and B.A. from Michigan State University) and Sign Language Studies (B.A. from Madonna University). Her Masters Degree is in Labor-Industrial Relations from Michigan State University.

Claudia's memberships include: The World Federation of the Deaf, National Association of the Deaf, Michigan Deaf Association, Association of Late-Deafened Adults, Self Help For Hard of Hearing People (SHHH), and the SayWhatClub. She is a Secular Franciscan, Third Order, at St. Bonaventure Church in Detroit.

Writing books for children and adults is an on-going endeavor for Claudia. She loves animals and has one dog and two cats which were adopted from the Dearborn Animal Shelter. Her hobbies include gardening, swimming, hiking, and astronomy. She loves to travel with her family and has visited national parks, museums, conservatories, gardens, aquariums and zoos.

Claudia volunteers as a Eucharistic Minister with the Church of the Divine Child, the Urban Gardening/Earth Works Project, as a driver and interpreter for the Deaf/Blind Club of Detroit, as a probation officer with the 19th District Court, and as a Commissioner with the Dearborn Commission On Disability Concerns.
